The Nia Technique was founded in 1983 by Debbie Rosas and Carlos Aya Rosas in San Francisco and was initially known as non-impact aerobics - a health and fitness alternative that evolved to include neurological integrative practices and teachings.

Nia Dance is an energetic, fun, fusion dance that incorporates a unique blend of modern dance, martial arts and mindfulness in a workout set to music. Nia Dance conditions and strengthens the body, while helping to transform the mind. It is wonderful, holistic fitness practice that can be enjoyed by all.
